WHO ARE WE?  We are mostly bilingual volunteers who are involved in the community and are strong supporters of immigration issues. We are a voice for the Latino Community.

WHAT WE DO?  We serve on boards including Head Start, Orange County Human Rights Commission, Downing Park Planning Committee, Loaves & Fishes, Newburgh Armory Unity Center and Community Gardens. We offer free ESL and Citizenship Test Prep classes and organize free flu shot clinics. We do pro bono translations for Community groups including Newburgh Illuminated, Loaves & Fishes , Newburgh Urban Farm Fair. We organize talks and workshops (and translation, if needed) on topics such as child abuse, women’s health, how to communicate with Law Enforcement, diabetes, nutrition and immigration and law issues.

Dreamers need us now.

Nearly 800,000 Dreamers currently receive critical deportation protections and work authorization under the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. DACA has allowed Dreamers to work in every industry and at nearly every single major company in America, but President Trump is ending the DACA program. These Dreamers came forward with the government’s promise of protection, and passed a rigorous background check, paid a fee, and are currently in school, active duty or the workforce. They are hardworking, young individuals who are part of the fabric of our nation. Eliminating the ability of these Dreamers to work legally in the U.S. and subjecting them to immediate deportation is a moral, policy, and political disaster. There is overwhelming bipartisan support across America for legislative solutions to protect Dreamers from deportation and to create a legal status for them.

Take action to protect Dreamers.
